and personal data management

FoRST – Fondazione per la Ricerca Scientifica Termale shall protect the privacy of its customers as data subjects, through the protection of the personal data collected in compliance with the new “Personal Data Protection Code” (Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30th June 2003).
Information is provided within the meaning of section 13 of Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30th June 2003 for data subjects using this site and the services provided herein by the association.
Information is valid only for the site www.forst.it and not for other sites visited by data subjects through a link.

Purposes of processing

FoRST shall process the collected personal data only to carry out the usual activities of the association, i.e. raising awareness about cancer cure and prevention, oncological research, fostering new findings and investigation processes, and promoting fund raising activities to allocate sums to oncological research.

Processing mechanism

Data voluntary provided by the data subject
Data processing for such purposes shall follow automatic and non automatic procedures in compliance with the protection of confidentiality and safety envisaged by Code. Data shall be processed only by the person in charge of the processing appointed by FoRST as processing data controller.

Navigation data
A number of personal data are collected implicitly by using Internet communication protocols during standard navigation in the site.
IP addresses or name of computer domains connecting to www.forst.it, mechanisms to undertake a survey on the server, and other parameters referring to the operating and data processing system of the data subject submitting inquires to the server shall fall into this category.
Such data are used anonymously and only for statistic purposes in relation to the use of the site.

Cookies
No personal data from data subjects is acquired purposely from the site.
Neither cookies to transmit personal information, nor persistent cookies of any type (i.e. systems tracking data subjects) are employed.
The use of session cookies (which are not memorized in a persistent way on the computer of data subjects and vanish when closing the browser) is strictly limited to the transmission of the session identifier (composed by random numbers created by the server) which are necessary to allow a safe and efficient navigation in the site.
Session cookies used within the site avoid resorting to other information technology which could prove to be potentially injurious for the confidentiality of data subjects’ navigation; such cookies do not allow the acquisition of personal identification data of the data subject.

Data providing

Besides what is above mentioned as to navigation data, data providing is voluntary and a possible failure to reply does not imply any consequence besides the impossibility of associating or contributing with donations to the research promoted by FoRST, or being informed about the activities carried out by the association.

Data communication and dissemination

Collected data shall not be communicated to any subject besides the person in charge of the processing appointed by FoRST as data controller. Collected data shall not be subject to dissemination.

The data controller is FoRST – Fondazione per la Ricerca Scientifica Termale - Via Po, 22 - 00198 Rome.

Rights of the data subject

The data subject shall have the right to obtain in every moment a confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning him or her exist and to be informed of contents and source, verifying if they are exact or asking for an integration or updating, rectification or erasure under section 7 of the Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30th June 2003 by writing directly to the data controller of the processing; a copy of section 7 is integrally reproduced below for your comfort.

Section 7 Right to Access Personal Data and Other Rights

  1. A data subject shall have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning him exist, regardless of their being already recorded, and communication of such data in intelligible form.
  2. A data subject shall have the right to be informed:
    a) of the source of the personal data;
    b) of the purposes and methods of the processing;
    c) of the logic applied to the processing, if the latter is carried out with the help of electronic means;
    d) of the identification data concerning data controller, data processors and the representative designated as per Section 5(2);
    e) of the entities or categories of entity to whom or which the personal data may be communicated and who or which may get to know said data in their capacity as designated representative(s) in the State’s territory, data processor(s) or person(s) in charge of the processing.
  3. A data subject shall have the right to obtain:
    a) updating, rectification or, where interested therein, integration of the data;
    b) erasure, anonymization or blocking of data that have been processed unlawfully, including data whose retention is unnecessary for the purposes for which they have been collected or subsequently processed;
    c) certification to the effect that the operations as per letters a) and b) have been notified, as also related to their contents, to the entities to whom or which the data were communicated or disseminated, unless this requirement proves impossible or involves a manifestly disproportionate effort compared with the right that is to be protected.
  4. A data subject shall have the right to object, in whole or in part:
    a) on legittimate grounds, to the processing of personal data concerning him/her, even though they are relevant to the purpose of the collection;
    b) to the processing of personal data concerning him/her, where it is carried out for the purpose of sending advertising materials or direct selling or else for the performance of market or commercial communication surveys.
